Unified communication channel for an international restaurant franchise

PappaRich is a company is a young company with just over a decade of history. The company has been actively expanding in Malaysia and across the globe over the last eight years.

Communication is a key factor in this expansion, to get everyone aligned, they relied heavily on telephone calls, emails, text messages, and other IMs for communications. While these methods serve their basic needs, it was far from ideal in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, and interactivity.

Now PappaRich is using DingTalk. The communication flow at their management level has seen much more efficiency and effectiveness. The attendance data obtained from outlets provides useful reports for their human resource planning and monitoring. The approval function is simple to use and available for all relevant parties. Overall, there has been a decrease in administrative emails and an increase in workflow efficiency.

PappaRich now uses the approval feature to report faulty equipment. Before. An outlet manager reports the equipment break down to the area manager, then the area manager informs the project head to assess the issue to get a quote, and then it needs to be approved by the project head and head of outlet operations.

Another problem was the miscommunications and delays that had been troubling them over the last three years. There was no platform available to support cross-department affairs. Now, using the DingTalk approval feature, everyone is able to perform their roles with full clarity and accountability.

“We don’t need to use different kinds of communication channels because with DingTalk. Emails, instant messages, file storage, audio calls, video calls, conference calls, and even video conference calls are all available. Now, the DING feature on DingTalk is how we communicate our daily sales from all 84 outlets to the HQ. ”

She also sent a message to the group chat congratulating Mike. Even though Pheobe is far away from the HQ, with the touch of a few keys, she was able to approve Mike's leave request and share the happiness with the team.

"We operate outlets that are open for business 365 days a year, it is very difficult to coordinate everyone to meet in the same location. It is even more difficult now that we have outlets all over the world. DingTalk is a very effective tool for communicating with team members across the globe and helping us build our team culture."

"The AI translation feature in DingTalk has helped us bridge our HQ and outlets. When we first opened our US chains, Sharma, an executive of our franchise wanted to send a warm welcome to all of our chefs, but the majority of our chefs are Chinese and their English level is not fluent, so Sharma used the AI translator to translate her message and she was able to communicate from English to Chinese."

“Hello everyone, I want to let you guys know that Tuck Wah will be joining us as a team moving forward. Spend some time to get to know each other and see how we can strengthen our US operation together as one family.” Sharma typed that message and used the real-time translator and the sentence can be easily translated to “大家好,我想让你们知道,塔克华将加入我们作为一个团队前进。花些时间去了解对方,看看我们如何能像一家人一样加强我们的合作。”

“At PappaRich, we are not just a company but also a family. We care about our staff and employees and aspire to be able to nurture a closer, warmer and interactive environment between our team members, especially with the diverse backgrounds of our team members. DingTalk has been a great help with all of that.”
